The 3rd Hay Walking Festival is taking place from Thursday 10th – Monday 14th October 2013. We have a programme of 48 walks over 5 days, with a mix of short and long walks each day, plus some family friendly walks, and more themed walks – foraging, geology, archaeology , local history and ancient churches. There are opportunities to learn new techniques or to polish up rusty skills including map reading, navigation and nordic walking, and for the first time we are offering a beginner's session on mountain walking - in heart of the beautiful Llanthony valley. You can learn how the Alexander technique will help to improve your posture when taking to the hills, and pick up tips on sketching outdoors. We have many more longer walks this year, including one 20 miler, on Sunday 12th October - definitely not for the faint hearted! And there will be a few local classic walks, including the Brecon Beacons Horseshoe - again a new addition for this year.
We are launching the 2013 programme on Friday 12th July. make a note in your diary and get booking - last year many walks were fully sold out well before the weekend.
See you in October!
